OUR INITIATIVES

Since its inception, OCA has sponsored various initiatives to promote education and public health in Obosi. OCA awards scholarship programs to students in Junior Secondary School 1 (7th Grade) through to the University level. In the past 15 years, over 162 students have benefited from this program. Each year, approximately 60 scholarships are granted, with 10 students entering JSS 1 and 2 students enrolling in the university. The aim is for students who join the program in JSS 1to potentially continue receiving support through university graduation. OCA spends approximately $5,000 each year on its scholarship program. Additionally, OCA has built a classroom building at the Community Secondary School Obosi, which consists offive classrooms. They also donated desks and chairs for about 1,200 students in various primary schools in Obosi. OCA donated $5,000 cash to support the construction of a public library in Obosi. OCA donated 30 computers to
the two public secondary schools in Obosi and the public library.

After Hurricane Katrina, OCA donated money to the Salvation Army to provide relief to those impacted by the hurricane.
